People often ask why I write for the automotive space. My answer is simple: I’m a car guy. Quite literally. After all, I was born in the car market capital of the country, Los Angeles and then raised in the Pacific NW right off of Portland’s famous “Car Dealer Row,” S.W. Canyon Road.
As a kid, while my friends bought and traded the newest comics, I impatiently waited for the newest issues of Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and AutoWeek. I couldn’t get enough car talk (including “Car Talk with Click & Clack” ; )
I furthered my love of writing in college as a contributing writer for the Oregon Voice, a campus magazine that highlighted local culture. That’s where I developed the wit and humor in my voice onto the page.
After college, I found my way into field marketing and shortly after, working at auto shows as a product specialist. I loved the shows. There, I learned more about consumer behavior as it relates to the automotive world.
That’s what truly led me down the path of advertising. Because advertising is nothing more than understanding an audience and why they do what they do and why they buy what they buy.
Copywriting, my forte, is taking those human behaviors and putting them into words. It’s really just creative problem solving via human tendencies.
That’s what I love to do. And that’s what I can do for you.
Website copy. Sales pages. Facebook/Instagram ads. Banner ads.
If it needs words, I’m your guy.
Hailing from the big island of Hawaii, Trese found refuge from the remote paradise she was born into in the form of books. Surrounded more by volcanic rocks in the center of the island rather than seascapes, literature was her connection to the bigger world until she finally moved to Oahu to pursue a literature degree at University of Hawaii, Manoa.
After graduation she would move on to the mainland and now makes the Pacific NW her home, where tropical beaches have been replaced by easy access to the mountains where she enjoys hiking and snowshoeing.
She is passionate about nature and wildlife and cannot recall how many cats she has raised and fostered.
Her love of books, science fiction in particular, led her to author and illustrate a children’s zombie graphic novel. Her experience as a writer and editor along with the unique storytelling that’s a part of her Polynesian heritage have served as a unique skill set for her.
Trese has an expert eye in visual art design as well as copy editing. She also serves as Cars & Copy's cat wrangler (figuratively and literally ; )
